Plan a trip
A little preparation. A better journey.

Plan your Nepal trip

Start with the time you have, the places that interest you and how you like to travel. Use this guide to prepare a useful inquiry and check the official information before making commitments.

01 / Choose your approach

Fixed departure or private journey?

Join a fixed departure

Start with a published trip and date. Review the route, price basis, available places and booking cutoff. Your reservation request needs staff review; a listed departure does not by itself confirm your place.

Find fixed departures

Shape a private journey

Share your preferred dates, group size and interests. Discuss the route, daily pace and accommodation before agreeing a proposal. This is also a useful starting point when published departures do not match your plans.

Plan a private trip
02 / Bring these details

A useful first conversation

Your dates and time

Share your arrival and departure window, total days in Nepal, and whether your dates can move. Ask what contingency time the proposed route needs.

Your group and interests

Tell us the group size, recent walking experience and preferred balance of trekking, culture and downtime. Mention accommodation preferences and accessibility questions.

The daily demands

Ask about walking hours, terrain, highest visited and overnight elevations, acclimatization days and alternatives. Compare the daily itinerary with your experience and expectations.

The complete arrangements

Request written inclusions, exclusions, transport, equipment, permit responsibilities and cancellation terms. Ask your insurer whether the proposed activities and elevations are covered.

03 / Go to the source

Official information to check

Requirements depend on your circumstances and route. Recheck these sources before travel.

Entry and visas

Check the requirements for your nationality, passport, entry point and intended stay with Nepal’s Department of Immigration before booking travel.

Trekking guides and TIMS

Nepal Tourism Board publishes route-specific guide and TIMS information. Confirm the requirements for your exact itinerary and who will arrange the documents.

Conservation-area permits

NTNC’s permit guidance covers entry conditions and notes that some areas need separate restricted-area permission. Ask for a complete permit list for your route.

Weather and current bulletins

Use Nepal’s official DHM weather bulletins close to departure. Discuss current conditions and any changes to transport or the route with the team.

Leave space for the places you visit. Ask before photographing people and follow local site instructions. Read NTNC’s Minimum Impact Code and explore UNESCO’s Kathmandu Valley heritage guide for context before a cultural visit.

From an idea to an agreed itinerary

A request starts a conversation.

Send your plans, review the written proposal, then follow the company’s agreed booking steps. An inquiry or reservation request is not a confirmed booking.
